WordCamp RI takes place\u00a0over two days: Friday September 25 and Saturday September 26 at New England Tech&#8217;s East Greenwich campus. Students not only get free admission by <a href=\"https:\/\/2015.rhodeisland.wordcamp.org\/tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\">pre-registering<\/a>, lunch is also included both days. \u00a0(Yes, that&#8217;s students from <em>any<\/em> educational institution: free admission!)<\/p>\n<p>WordCamp RI is a two-day conference focusing on WordPress, an open-source online publishing tool. \u00a0WordPress currently powers more than 20% of the world&#8217;s websites and blogs.<\/p>\n<p>There are two main attractions for students at WordCamp RI.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Computer studies students can spend two days enhancing their coding knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Students from many academic fields can learn how to use WordPress and then make it\u00a0an online portfolio of their work and studies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Friday there are <a href=\"https:\/\/2015.rhodeisland.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\">three intensive tracks<\/a>\u00a0running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. \u00a0(Lunch is included with admission.)<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, attendees can choose from among <a href=\"https:\/\/2015.rhodeisland.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\">15 different sessions<\/a>. \u00a0Each session runs about 45-minutes. \u00a0Once again lunch is included.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, WordCamp RI will feature the famous Happiness Bar, also known as the Help Desk. \u00a0Attendees can get one-on-one WordPress help from the volunteers at the Happiness Bar. \u00a0Bring your laptop and questions!<\/p>\n<p>Non-students are welcome also! \u00a0Admission, including two days of sessions, access to the Happiness Bar (Help Desk) and lunch, is only $20 per person for both days.<\/p>\n<p>This once-a-year event is not to be missed. \u00a0See you at WordCamp RI!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WordCamp RI is offering free admission to ALL students with a valid student ID to this year&#8217;s sessions, due to the generosity of our sponsors.
