Stirred not Shaken&#8221; by Jon Desrosiers<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;From Employee, to Freelancer, to Business Owner (An Unnatural Progression)&#8221; by Aaron Ware<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0&#8220;Panel: The use of WordPress at The Harrington School of Communication and Media, URI&#8221; led by Jonathan Friesem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The After-Party was held at Congress Tavern.<\/p>\n<h3>2013<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/2013.providence.wordcamp.org\/files\/2013\/08\/cropped-jpeg.jpeg\" width=\"940\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p>WordCamp 2013 was expanded to a 2-day weekend of learning all things WordPress.\u00a0 The co-lead-organizers were\u00a0 Luke Gedeon and Jesse Friedman.\u00a0 There were four tracks in 2013: beginner, intermediate, advanced and marketer.<\/p>\n<p>The all-day Friday in-depth sessions focused on mobile strategy, WordPress templates, and starting a WordPress website for beginners.\u00a0 Saturday sessions offered topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;How We Built the Harrington School Website with WordPress&#8221; by Renee Hobbs<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Real-Time Site Personalization&#8221; by Jesse Friedman<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Plugin Development&#8221; by Jon Desrosiers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2013 the After-Party was held at Local 121\u2019s Speakeasy.<\/p>\n<h3>2014<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/2014.providence.wordcamp.org\/files\/2014\/07\/cropped-HeaderBanner.png\" width=\"405\" height=\"174\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2014 found WordCamp back at the Harrington School of Communication with Jesse Friedman as the lead organizer.\u00a0\u00a0 During the last weekend in September, WordCamp started with three all-day sessions on Friday: WordPress Basics, Plugin Development, and Security.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday had sessions on a variety of topics: beginner, advanced user, developer, business, education, and design.\u00a0 They included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;WordPress Security: Fundamentals for Professionals&#8221; by Joseph Herbrandson<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;You Will Never Be Good Enough&#8221;\u00a0by Aaron Ware<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Flexibility of WooCommerce &#8221;\u00a0by Danny Santoro.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This year the After-Party was\u00a0at Trinity Brewhouse.<\/p>\n<h3>2015<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/2014.providence.wordcamp.org\/files\/2015\/07\/WCRI-MastheadMock.jpg\" width=\"2000\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2015 we stayed with the two-day format, but changed locations to the New England\u00a0Institute\u00a0of Technology\u00a0in East Greenwich.\u00a0 The organizing committee wondered if WordCampers would be happy with a change\u00a0in venue from downtown Providence.\u00a0 We need not have worried.\u00a0 The new location was an instant hit.\u00a0 WordCamp RI was held the last weekend in September.\u00a0 Jennifer Kusiak and Aaron Ware\u00a0were the lead organizers.<\/p>\n<p>The Friday boot-camp sessions were WordPress Basics, Getting to Know SASS, and Contributing to WordPress Core.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the Saturday sessions included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Child Themes&#8221; by Ajay Coletta<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;The World Of WordPress: Roles, Tasks, and Skills in WordPress Development&#8221; by Colin Murphy<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Content is King, but You Don\u2019t Have to be its Slave&#8221;
